Ace Relocation’s Commitment to Sustainability

At Ace Relocation Systems, we’re continually seeking new ways to reduce our environmental impact while delivering reliable, high-quality moving and storage services. As one of the first Atlas agents to be named a Certified Sustainable Agent, we’re proud to lead by example and take our responsibility to the planet seriously.

From our fleet of trucks to the way we pack and store items, we’re committed to reducing our environmental footprint. Here’s how we’re building a better future for the communities we serve.

Smarter, Cleaner Transportation

Fleet Efficiency and Upgrades

We continually invest in a cleaner, more efficient fleet that meets the rigorous environmental standards set by the EPA and California Air Resources Board (CARB). As part of these investments, we’ve strategically phased out older engines in favor of diesel-electric hybrid trucks that reduce emissions and fuel consumption.

Aerodynamic Technology

We are testing cutting-edge aerodynamic features on our fleet—including top and side trailer fins and wheel flaps—that improve fuel efficiency by reducing drag. Manufacturer testing and our own studies have shown fuel consumption reductions of roughly 5%.

Idle Reduction Tools

By utilizing tools like IdleAire, our drivers power their vehicles without idling their engines—helping conserve fuel, extend engine life, and reduce harmful emissions.

Route Optimization

Unlike other sectors of the transportation industry that rely on set routes, the moving industry requires flexibility—our next destination is wherever our customers need us. This makes efficient planning all the more critical. With the support of our dedicated planning team and advanced route-optimization software, we maximize the efficiency of every trip. As a result, we’ve achieved an impressive 97% fleet utilization per mile driven, minimizing unnecessary fuel consumption and environmental impact.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

We minimize waste through practical, everyday choices that add up to a significant impact:

  • We redeploy used packing materials in other ways before opting to recycle, such as donating to schools and charities who are in need of pack materials.
  • We recycle over 2 million pounds of corrugated cardboard each year.
  • 40% of the cardboard we use is made from recycled materials.
  • We’ve reduced our plastic usage by 5,400 pounds a year by switching from 2 mil to 6 mil tape.
  • Lumber is repurposed for storage and shipping vaults when viable.
  • We divert approximately 600 tons of electronic waste by partnering with e-waste companies to recycle computers, phones, TVs, and electronics.

We also partner with suppliers that are committed to sustainability, tracking recycled content and actively reducing packaging material usage.

Measuring Our Carbon Footprint

Understanding our emissions is key to reducing them. That’s why we report our data on a platform that helps businesses measure their carbon output. This platform helps us to reduce:

  • Direct emissions: Emissions we create ourselves—from the fuel used in our trucks to the energy used in our warehouses and offices.
  • Indirect emissions from energy use: Electricity, heating, or cooling we buy from utility companies. Even if we’re not generating it, we’re still responsible for the emissions from using it.
  • Emissions from our supply chain: Emissions created by the companies we partner with, the materials we use, and even the travel related to our business. We’re working toward tracking these too, so we can make better decisions at every level.

By understanding our impact in all these areas, we can make smarter changes that lead to real results.

Green Practices in the Office and Warehouse

Sustainability starts at the workplace. Our offices and warehouses follow everyday practices that reflect our long-term sustainability goals:

  • We’ve converted to paperless processes wherever possible in our office settings. Where paper is still in use, we recycle everything—from paper and packaging to printer cartridges and personal-use items.
  • Energy-saving systems control lighting and HVAC, and workstations are equipped with energy-efficient flat panel monitors.
  • We recycle vehicle fluids, parts, tires, and batteries to keep waste out of landfills.
  • Biodegradable soaps and closed-loop vehicle wash systems prevent pollutants from entering local waterways.

A Culture of Conscious Action

We know that sustainability is a journey—not a destination. That’s why we continuously evaluate and evolve our practices, seeking out innovative solutions to reduce waste, save energy, and lower emissions. Whether it’s how we move your belongings or how we power our offices, Ace Relocation is committed to moving in the right direction—toward a cleaner, greener future.
