Reg Lammers relocated his family from Minnesota to take a job as general manager of a local San Diego moving and storage company that was founded in 1968. This move proved to be the beginning of a business that has expanded and evolved over its nearly 50 year history.
After the move, Reg officially purchased the San Diego moving company. Then, he purchased another moving company in Long Beach, CA. He renamed the combined businesses ACE of California, agent for Atlas Van Lines. In 1988, ACE expanded to Northern California with the opening of an office and warehouse in San Jose. When the Seattle office was opened in 1993, the company name changed to Ace Relocation Systems, Inc.
Ace Relocation Systems, Inc.
Today, Ace is a family owned and operated business with nine office and warehouse locations strategically placed throughout the country. Ace Relocation Systems is the third largest Atlas Van Lines agency group and the largest hauling agency for Atlas. We execute approximately 15,000 domestic and international moves per year for individuals, families, and businesses.
Our moving company works closely with the U.S. Government to relocate armed services personnel, with the General Service Administration and with the Department of State, to move their employees. Approximately 17% of Ace’s revenue comes from relocating U.S Military. Corporate clients include several Fortune 500 and high profile companies. Some come to us through our relationships with major full-service relocation companies.
Ace consistently receives the annual Milton M. Hill Award for outstanding service and quality. This award represents the pinnacle for service excellence throughout the industry.
The Ace Family
Until his passing in 2008, Reg Lammers was an active member of the organization and held a seat on the Atlas Van Lines board of directors. Reg’s son Larry was named President in 2002 and moved from the San Jose location to work out of the corporate office in San Diego. Reg’s younger son Dan has held management positions in the Los Angeles and Washington, DC offices and currently works out of the San Diego corporate office as Vice President of Operations. Larry now holds a seat on the Atlas Board of Directors.
Through the commitment of the Lammers family, Ace grew to encompass a dedicated employee base that has in turn created a new and much larger family of employees. The Ace fleet of drivers is among the best in the industry. We have numerous senior drivers that have been with Ace for over 20 years.
The culture of Ace truly exemplifies family values. We celebrate life events such as weddings, births, and birthdays throughout the office. Holidays are a time to feast, and even going away parties are big events. We share less fortunate life moments as well, through good times and bad. Our company is truly a family. In all, Reg Lammers built an organization that shares his dedication to family, and each of Ace’s employees will stand with the company through thick and thin.
